Kevin Kerby releases solo debut Kevin Kerby releases his solo debut on Max Recordings  // Ex-Mulehead songwriter, Kevin Kerby marks the beginning of his solo releases with his debut CD. Shedding away the bar room stomp that comprised much of his previous band's efforts, Secret Lives introduces itself with a more dimensioned scope altogether. While the songs still fall squarely in Kerby's rock and roll style, the colors being added in and around his voice veer from country acoustic to electrics destroyed with distortion to synth-pop flourishes. Fans of Denton, TX natives Centro-Matic will especially appreciate the accompaniment that they provide on two of the album's 14 tracks, while longtime collaborator and friend Brent Best (of Slobberbone) adds guitars and vocal harmonies to another couple.
