Nate Powell // North Little Rock minimalist pop duo K forms, comprised of Eli Monster on bass and Mikael Wood singing. The band proceeds to play nearly every show at the Belvedere that summer. K might fit in best with the twee stylings of the K Records family, but the origin of the band name stems from Chris Elliot's short-lived Get A Life TV show, in which Chris reveals that he's always spelled the word "pants" with a silent "K". K continues to play until 2000, the highlight appearance being at the annual PopFest.
