Clay Simmons // This was what became of William Martyr 17 after Chris Horne died. For some reason, I thought I could play the drums. Matt took over on bass and stayed on vocal duties. We played two shows. One was at the river at that weird area made of iron bars and bricks closer to the amphitheater side of things. The other show was at State Street. I borrowed Dan Dean's drums. The bass drum mallet flew off halfway through the first song. I couldn't figure out why everything sounded weird. The existence of this band was probably good for us because it became clear very quickly that without Chris, our musical chemistry had dissolved.
